Choosing The Best Music Making Software

The Best Music Making Software
If you are looking for music making software you have probably asked yourself which is the best. Recording software comes with many different options and prices. While this will be a factor in deciding the music making software you ultimately decide to buy, there are many other factors for you to take into consideration while looking for the best audio software for you.
Deciding which music production elements are needed will help you find the recording program that is right for your audio production requirements and budget.
So Which Recording Software Is The Best?
This question might very well lead to the next world war. If you visit any audio forums you will find at least one heated discussion on this very topic and rarely a clear winner. Good audio programs all have the same basic abilities like multi-track recording, a mixer, effects and plugins, etc... The decision which of the top programs is best really comes down to personal preference and ones own audio production abilities.
The audio knowledge of the person using the music making software is more important than the program itself. Someone with a decent understanding of music production can take a free program like Audacity and turn out great results. Even the most expensive music software will not guarantee OK results in the hands of someone who is inexperienced.
A persons experience and ability's are the most important aspect of a great song. The audio recording software is just a tool used to facilitate the sound production process.
Do Some Research
The best music making software is the one that suits all of your needs and allows you to produce the results you expect. The layout of each program is also a bit different and some might be easier to use than others. Expect to invest time into whichever program you use and time learning about audio production in general. This is where the big difference in sound quality is most evident.
Make a list of your needs with an audio production program. Check out the specs of several to see which fits those needs closely and read some customer reviews. Here are some of the most popular music making software programs. Take a look and see which one really grabs your attention. Many people like Cubase, Pro Tools, FL Studio, Reason, Logic Studio, and Acid Pro for some of the larger programs.
Personally I use FL Studio. You can find information about FL Studio here including how to get the free demo and a discount if you decide to buy. It is a popular choice among Hip-Hop and electronic musicians, but can be used for anything.

Yes, my favorite is FL Studio. I really like the program and company.
This is good to know. Thanks for the hub.
I just bought the Korg iMS-20 and iElectribe apps for the ipad. I'm hoping that in my copious free time (10 minutes a day) I can learn how to use them to make some good music. I have always wanted a synthesizer. This seemed like a good place to start.
I usually tell people the same thing when it comes to the 'best' computer to get. It's one of those moments of, "Man, I can't tell you what the best one is. What do you want to do with it?"
Any way, thanks for the good to know info.
Keep up the good work.
Your welcome. If you use FL Studio with the mac you will need to run bootcamp. There are other programs that are Mac compatible right out of the box if yo don't want the extra hassle. I can get you a 10% discount if you do want FL Studio though.
I hear you on the best computer thing. I find the best in that case to be self built, you get exactly what you want then lol.
It sounds intriguing, and I have several music programs already. I simply don't have the time to learn them very well, at this point. For that matter, I got a really good one on the mac that I think I've touched three times in the three years I've had the mac. It is quite sad. I love playing with music.
I'm still filling in a house (underground) and the barn on top (above ground.) My brother and I are trying to get the metal and wood shop spaces in the barn functioning. I could go on, and I won't, so as not to bore you on your own hub. Check out F. K. Isley if you want to know more.
As for my mac. I chose to purchase vmware fusion. It works rather well for most things.
Hopefully you will find the time soon once things settle down a bit for you. =]
